Fuel treated with EDT is a “PREMIUM” diesel fuel. Every diesel engine would benefit from EDT! Condensed water in fuels is a major cause of rust, icing in cold weather and the growth of microorganisms in warm weather. Operation of diesel engines is noticeably improved when corrosion and growth of bacteria are prevented. EDT contains an exclusive polar lubricity additive to prevent wear without altering fuel viscosity.
The Science
EDT is extremely effective in middle distillate fuels to improve combustion and ignition efficiency, enhance fuel economy and maintain fuel in a clean, stabilized condition. The sulfur content of this diesel fuel additive does not exceed 15 ppm
The reason for better performance with EDT is that cetane improvement in the fuel gives a smoother, less erratic pressure buildup in the combustion chamber during the ignition delay period which occurs between injection and ignition.

I dosed up my 2006 VW Jetta TDI with a full on ounce on the first trial. Nothing like you guys with the big iron displacement diesel engine trucks and their high volume fuel tanks. As the car’s 14 gallon tank was almost empty it swallowed the EDT dose and got a good mix for the first test run. I experienced a quieter engine operation, smother operating, and some additional acceleration . The mileage has seemed to improve as well but I don’t have any exact numbers yet. I wish the dispenser bottle had a longer neck attachment, as it is difficult to pour the EDT into the tank opening to deliver the 14/25= 0.56 of a 1/2 oz. or 0.28 oz. into the 14 gallon tank (if it’s completely empty). A friend told me to get a medical medicine measuring tube to premeasure the standard 1/2 oz. per 25 gallon ratio. Oh well, maybe I should just splurge and put the full 1/2 oz. Then enjoy the performance, extra torque, and all the other things the wonderful EDT provides while cruising along at over 50 MPG. What would you do? Please let me know.
