The introduction of Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) coupled with today’s highly engineered fuel systems are creating new problems for diesel owners. Sulfur was a very good lubricant. The removal of sulfur causes all the moving parts in your fuel system to suffer. Waxy soap deposits that were soluble in higher sulfur content fuels are now being formed and are difficult to filter. Fuel systems incorporating High Pressure Common Rail Injectors operate at higher pressures which create high heat. This heat chemically changes the hydrocarbons in the fuel to longer chain hydrocarbons called asphaltenes, which can block fuel filters. The tolerances for the Common Rail injectors are very tight, sometimes around 1-3 microns. This means even small deposits can cause an injector to stick.
Several sources of sodium and calcium contamination occur from residual refinery salts, storage tanks, ship ballasts and biodiesel catalysts, to name a few. Dodecenyl succinic acid (DDS) and hexadecenyl succinic acid (HDS) are commonly found in certain pipeline corrosion inhibitors, refineries and aftermarket additive packages. When the contamination from the sodium or calcium reacts with the DDS or HDS, carboxylic salts are formed. These carboxylic salts have very low solubility in ULSD and are very difficult to filter. They end up depositing on the internals of your fuel injectors causing what are known as Internal Diesel Injector Deposits (IDID’s).

Diesel Extreme is fully formulated with a powerful injector cleaner, cetane improver, neutral and sulfur free lubricity agent, water dispersant, rust and corrosion inhibitor and fuel stabilizer. Diesel Extreme’s injector cleaner specifically cleans IDID’s as well as the original carbon coking External Diesel Injector Deposits (EDID’s) and waxy soap deposits. Diesel Extreme’s powerful injector cleaner will also clean all components of your fuel system, including upper cylinders, fuel tank, fuel pumps and lines. The injector cleaner is also responsible for bringing asphaltenes and glycerides back into solution and preventing further asphaltenes and glycerides from forming.
With your diesel fuel void of carboxylic salts, waxy deposits, asphaltenes and glycerides in suspension, the problems with filter plugging and injector deposits are solved. DDS and HDS acids are neutralized by the injector cleaner to keep more carboxylic salts from forming. Independent testing has shown that power loss is restored up to 87% in the Peugeot CEC F98-08 DW-10 test with the keep clean level of injector cleaner found in Diesel Extreme. It also passes the ASTM D2068 Filter Blocking Test.
The Cetane levels found in diesel fuel in most states are around 42 to 45. The minimum required by ASTM D 975 is 40. Most diesel engines operate more efficiently with a fuel that has a cetane rating of 48 to 50. Fuels with higher cetane burn more efficiently and more completely than those with lower cetane ratings. Diesel Extreme contains a cetane improver that will raise your cetane number 7 points. There are many advantages to an increase cetane numbers. Cold starting is improved, and less black smoke is seen as a result of the improved combustion efficiency. Less hydrocarbons and particulate matter in your exhaust reduce the blocking of your Diesel Particulate Filter and using Diesel Extreme in your fuel has been shown to have 83% less DPF regenerations, saving you time and money. With the condensed water in the fuel removed, the major cause of rust, icing in cold weather and the growth of microorganisms in warm weather is inhibited. I’ve bought the signature fuel pack for my Isuzu D’Max 3lt Turbo Diesel incline 4 with 93000km on the clock (57787 Miles) in September 2022 after doing allot of research. I’m really amazed by the difference the Diesel Extreme and Everyday Diesel Treatment have made to my vehicle.
In South Africa we don’t have the size of engines you have in the States, the biggest is the 3lt diesel.
After using the Diesel Extreme after the first 10km (6Miles) the engine started running quieter the throttle response is amazing my truck pulls like a V6 Diesel. The startup is also much quicker, the vehicle sounds like the day I’ve bought it.

Started having a injector issue with my lmm duramax about a month ago where it would start sticking and missing under load then eventually clear up once I let off but would be right back again shortly. Tried a few tanks of howies and stanadyne. Didn’t change anything. Figured what the heck why not try some diesel extreme before I order injectors. Well within 20 miles the injector issue was gone. Thought maybe it was a fluke so next tank I didn’t put any in, it came right back, put diesel extreme in and 20 miles later no more missing and the hazing is getting better. That was a few weeks ago, still using diesel extreme and now edt and my trucks still running good. Ordered some edt + winter defense so we’ll see how that is

I bought my 1st diesel pickup at the beginning of December. It’s been a little learning curve but I’m happy to have found EDT and the Winter Anti-Gel products. I’m currently on a road trip and have been through some nasty weather in South Dakota and Wyoming. We’ve had 3 days of -19, -22 and -14 F (not counting wind chill) covering over 1,600 miles. I put this in a 6.5l that has roughly 215k on the motor. I had been using stanadyne. My motor was used when I replaced it and wasn’t long after installing the used motor it would have an haze at idle. I chalked it up to the 215k even with new injectors. Now with Hot Shots within 30 miles I had to stop and open a gate. That’s when I noticed the hazing was gone! I have now run a full tank of the Diesel extreme and there is a noticeable power increase. Granted the 6.5 is no power house. But the ole girl has some gitty up now!! I use this truck as a daily driver. Hot shots has made a big improvement on how the motor idles, it’s quieter driving down the road and more power! I also put this in my LLY D-max. Same thing as mentioned above with stanadyne. Notice my motor hazing. Checked my balance rates and had one injector reading +5. Put the Diesel extreme in and less than 50 miles my balance rates on all injectors were .05 to 1. Motor is quieter at idle. Less engine noise driving at highway speeds. Best of all is the very noticeable power increase! Motor is deleted with EFI live tune. Mileage went back up from 15 mpg to 21 mpg! I couldn’t be happier!! Hot shots is an amazing product! I also put the treatment in a 7.3 power stroke that has 265k. Been running stanadyne in it as well. Again! The truck came alive in under 50 miles! With the same results, smooth quiet idle, less engine noise at highway speeds. And best of all the power was restored. I’ll never use any other diesel treatment after having 3 different trucks all have very noticeable gains in power and idle quality, less engine noise while driving. Hazing at idle GONE! So yes!! I’m a happy camper with Hot Shots!!
