The Frantz Filter Bypass System is the most efficient oil filter that is commercially available for engines today. Even after many thousands of miles of use, oil filtered through a Frantz Filter Bypass System will be free of contamination to such a degree that it is considered analytically clean and suitable for further use.

Bypass filters remove solid contamination from lubricating oil. These types of filters are capable of removing extremely small size particles from the oil by providing filtration in depth through a densely packed filtering media. Oil flow through the bypass type filter is controlled at a rate so deliberate that it can trap and remove from the oil extremely small solid particles.

    Modification of Original Review

I’ve had the Frantz filter on for over a year now and I have to say it does great filtering, but I have to remove a few stars because it leaks at every connection point throughout the oil lines, as well as the oil filter block. All lines have been tightened, retightened, etc and they all continue to leak slightly at each connection. I never had a problem with oil filters leaking before installing this, now it happens regularly. I tighten it fairly firmly hand-tight, I’ve backed it off, I’ve gone hard hand-tight, and no matter what it leaks. The bypass filter itself leaks as well unless you tighten the knob incredibly tight, even after replacing gaskets.

Great quality components and easy install

    Steve

I installed this on my 2017 Powerstroke and am looking forward to keeping my oil filtered down to the 2 micron level. There are only a couple of decent options on where to install these in the 2017+ Powerstrokes, so I made a fairly detailed video about where I felt it was best to install mine, as well as how to install it.

    So far so good

I normally like to see reviews before I buy things, but there just wasn’t any so hopefully this will help someone else. I put this on my 2017 F-250 6.7. It took a little while to figure out where to put it. I ended up putting behind the bumper driver side. Because of that I had to buy another hose(about 12 more feet). All the fittings worked well. Easy to put together. A couple issues other then the hose the oil fill cap return is super tight(I have to tap it in with a small hammer). No where did I find how often to change the filters so I had to call and talk to them about it.(5k & 10k the synthetic last longer). If you are ordering this also order an oil sample kit because they recommend an oil sample after your first oil filter change.
So far I am happy with this. Took about 1 1/2 hours to put on mostly figuring out where to put it. Oil seems cleaner. I am about to send in my first oil sample to get more info.
