Diagnostic Trouble Codes – P0301-P0308

Description

P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307, P0308 – Misfire in cylinder “X” (last digit indicates cylinder)

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) tracks when a cylinder is not firing correctly and sets a code for the specific cylinder that is misfiring. When a misfire is bad enough to damage the catalytic converter, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will flash.

Possible Causes

  • Failing fuel injector
  • Fuel injector circuit fault
  • Low fuel pressure
  • Engine mechanical issue
