FORD: | 2011 F-Super Duty |
Details
ISSUE
Some 2011 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a Powerstroke 6.7L diesel and a single alternator may exhibit premature belt wear after the belt was replaced or removed for servicing another component.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
This concern is due to improper belt routing at the upper idler pulley. The belt must be routed over the upper idler pulley. Routing the belt under the upper idler pulley will result in belt to belt contact. Belt routing information is listed in Work Shop Manual (WSM) section 303-05.
