    Trying out

Actually been a Amsoil user and seen this for a while and decided to give it a try on my 2008 Dodge Ram with over 100,000 miles on it. Noticed after a week or so that the engine is a tad bit quieter.

I spoke to customer service and explained that I have oil consumption due to carbon packing. I was told to use Sticton eliminator. I ordered whole case and used ask recommended. It didn’t slow down oil consumption a bit. Actually it increased because oil got thinner. I went through whole case no result.

Stiction Eliminator will help clean the oil cooler. The HEUI injectors and turbo bearing will typically be cleaned much more quickly, but Stiction Eliminator will help over the course of an oil change.

    Question

Just picked up an 04 F350 6.0 with 98k on it. Had my local shop do oil change and filter changes (restored oil/fuel to OEM instead of the aftermarket ones that were on it). Recently I’ve noticed some bucking when it’s not fully warmed up so I’m suspecting stiction. Just purchased the Stiction Eliminator/Diesel Extreme combo from you. Since the oil change is already done, should I find a way to drain out 2 quarts to add in the Stiction Eliminator? if so, any suggestions so this doesn’t turn into an oil bath for me underneath the truck?

Unfortunately we haven’t found an easier way to drain oil other than through the drain plug. We’ve had enough practice here so we know it can be done with minimal mess, but other than an oil extractor most people choose to go the oil-hand-bath route. Sorry for the inconvenience Nick!

Been running This for about 500 miles after my oil change with Royal Purple 15w40 engine seems to start easier, maybe a bit more quiet 7.3’s are loud regardless, smoother idle and acceleration. Along with this i have used the Diesel Extreme and transmission stiction eliminator all have showed me results in my 200 f350 with 388K couldn’t be happier i will continue to run these additives and in between oil changes i plan to use the FR3. Great product guy.

    Question

    (verified owner)

I own a 2016 Colorado 3.6 VVT that is brand new that I use FR3 in as well as Stiction at separate oil changes but I also have a 2012 Traverse with the same engine with around 80,000 miles and I want to use FR3 and Stiction together in same oil change but your tech sheet say not to use with each other are they not compatible with each other? The camshaft actuators are hydraulically actuated with engine oil on both engines in efforts to keep the high miler clean and sealed I want to use FR3 and Stiction to get the benefit of both products, what are your recommendations to accomplish this?

    • Spencer W.

      Admin (verified owner)

We recommend using FR3 on the oil change after the Stiction Eliminator treatment. FR3’s benefits are much more apparent when added to a clean engine. Typically it takes 30 minutes to get FR3 completely circulated in an engine, using Stiction Eliminator also cuts that time down. FR3 and Stiction Eliminator are compatible with one another, but we recommend using them separately for cost effectiveness. Stiction Eliminator has some friction reducing properties, and FR3 contains some cleaner to ensure FR3 can reach under varnish or deposits to reach the metal surfaces inside an engine; so you’ll still receive similar benefits using just one at a time.

Ron, Stiction Eliminator works to clean varnish, gunk and stiction down to the molecular level so the existing engine oil can safely carry and eventually remove it when you drain the oil. Filters, ports, passages, pick up screens are all safe!

5 out of 5 Restored power to my 7.3

    (verified owner)

I have a 2000 f250 with just over 200,000 miles, My fuel mileage had dropped to 8-9 mpg, acceleration was disappointing, and cold starts were very rough. I had a couple of mechanics tell me the injectors were probably bad. I decided to try the stiction eliminator and it made a huge difference within a week. Fuel mileage went back up to about 14, and the engine is making great power again. I can hear the difference in the injectors when it’s running. I was really amazed that this product could work so well. I have a friend who has several Powerstroke trucks in his construction fleet and I talked him into trying the product — he had the same results. The product works great !

I used secret stiction on my 1999 F350. It had gotten to the point that any temp 40 degrees or below I would have to run my block heater several hours before cranking AND hook up a battery booster to crank it. One oil change with 2 quarts of secret stiction and about 100 miles the issue started going away. By 200 miles it was like brand new….No trace of the problem, no more block heater, no more battery booster. I am a complete believer….The proof is in that 2 quart bottle. I’m sold forever!

    I'm a believer!!!

I am a skeptic, I have an 07 2500 5.9l. At about 130,000 miles I started to get a bit of rattle. Not all the time mind you but a rattle. Changed the fuel filter and oil. Still there. About a month later it began to get worse started sounding like a machine gun at certain throttle points. Intermittent rough idle, blue smoke, a distinct miss but again it was all intermittent. I had finally started getting a “miss detected #5” code that would clear the next day. only twice mind you. I had all but resigned myself that I had deposits and leaking injectors (lots in internet research) on at least #5. Tried several different fuel side cleaners to no avail. I figured at $54 v. $350 for a new injector I would give it a whirl. As the title suggests I’m a believer. after 150 miles now I have almost no intermittent issues. Still have a few hiccups, maybe at startup once in a while it will smoke for a sec then smooth out and purr like it should. The difference was almost immediate for me and distinct. I noted the strong smell the first couple of mornings but that has gone away. I will keep it going for the 4000 miles and keep using the recommended half bottle at each oil change. What an amazing difference in my beast, I love it. Worth every penny for me. If you have symptoms like I describe give it a shot.

    Question

Is stiction an issue with turbo chargers on gasoline engines, specifically a 2016 F150 with the 2.7L twin turbo ecoboost

    (0) (0)

Something wrong with this post? Thanks for letting us know. If you can point us in the right direction...

    • Spencer W.

      Admin (verified owner)

Jerry, absolutely! Oil control rings and turbo bearings are typically the hottest temperatures that oil will see inside of a gasoline or diesel engine. These temperatures break apart the hydrocarbons found in engine oil, leaving carbon deposits. These deposits can starve the turbo bearing of the necessary oil and cause catastrophic failure. Our own ASE Master Mechanic uses Stiction Eliminator in his F150 Ecoboost, we definitely recommend a dose to help protect your investment!

My 01 F-350 with the 7.3 has always had Rotella 15W 40 ran in it, now it has 376k miles on it and was starting to smoke on start up. I started using the Stiction Eliminator and the start up smoke almost completely went away. This time I used a semi synthetic oil with the Stiction Eliminator and the start up smoke is gone. I’ve noticed a MPG increase as well. Now I’m using the Stiction Eliminator, FR3 and EDT. So far I have more power and better MPG by 1.9 and seems to be getting better with every tank.

Georgia, a 32 oz bottle of Stiction Eliminator would suit your vehicle’s needs well. I would add 2/3rds of a 32oz bottle (Roughly 20-21 ounces). I would put the rest of the bottle on the shelf and run that initial treatment for a full length oil change. On the third oil change, I would use the rest of that bottle.

For the 6.5L, a 32 oz bottle of Stiction Eliminator would suit your vehicle’s needs well. I would add 2/3rds of a 32oz bottle (Roughly 20-21 ounces) at the next oil change. I would put the rest of the bottle on the shelf and run that initial treatment for a full length oil change. On the third oil change, I would use the rest of that bottle (10-11 ounces). If you’re currently experiencing issues, I would recommend a full synthetic, our Blue Diamond is one of the top oils on the market, but any high quality synthetic readily available will do. If you’re using Stiction Eliminator as preventative maintenance, then whatever engine oil you’re currently using will be sufficient.

Once the injectors reach the point of keeping a truck from even starting, it is very difficult to get them cleaned out. We have a money back guarantee so Stiction Eliminator is definitely worth a shot, I would add to the oil fill cap and the HPOP to try to get it in multiple places. If you can get a hold of a scanner, try to measure monitor the Injection Control Pressure while the engine is cranking. 6.0’s won’t start if the pressure is not at least 500 psi.

Clint, Stiction Eliminator works great with all conventional, semi and full synthetic and any kind of high mileage engine oil blends. If you’re experiencing symptoms of stiction, or any other kind of rough idle, vibration, noise, temperature or issue of that sort, Stiction Eliminator with a full synthetic oil has proven to correct these issues more quickly compared to Stiction Eliminator/conventional; but the effectiveness over the course of an oil change interval is very similar. If you’re running strong and only wanting to maintain your engine, conventional is perfect. Thanks!

Stiction Eliminator is an engine oil additive, most users will add the recommended dosage while completing an oil change. Stiction Eliminator replaces engine oil, so if you add 1 quart of Stiction Eliminator you will leave out one quart of oil to prevent overfilling. It is fully formulated to remain in the engine for the entire length of your oil change.

Jason, the Ohio State University’s Center for Automotive Research found a combined 8.7% fuel economy increase in a 6.7L Cummins powered FedEx commissioned box truck using Diesel Extreme and Stiction Eliminator. Stiction Eliminator won’t be able to affect your injectors, but Stiction Eliminator will clean your turbo, oil pump and the rest of your oil system while reducing friction. Extended turbo and engine life, a proven fuel economy increase that pays for the product, reduction in noise and vibration, and a money back guarantee if for any reason you aren’t impressed with the product.

    Question

I have a 1996 F350 7.3 powerstroke with the ZF-5, I have a napa air filter, 3″ downpipe to 4″ straight pipe. My truck is running on 6 or 7 cylinders at start up and runs extremely rough until warm, then it idles fine. BUT, if I give it any throttle it just starts running like garbage, no power, definitely missing on 1 or 2 cylinders. So far I have replaced both under valve cover injector harnesses, all 4 pigtail plugs for them, the cam position sensor, re sealed all 8 injectors, and replaced the drivers side glow plugs, replaced the fuel filter twice, ran amsoil fuel system cleaner with no luck. I have no check engine light, no tuner, I have the factory idle controller. I’m afraid if I drive it like this it will blow up. I live in Canada and it ran great when warm all winter, always sputtered a bit when cold. Has shell Rotella T6, Hastings premium oil filter, both installed 1500km ago. My oil pressure is in normal so I don’t suspect a clogged oil cooler, voltage is good as well. All fuses and relays are good. Is there any way to test my injectors? Or my IDM? Or will your products help save my truck?

Marinus, the injectors and IDM can be checked by someone with a analyzer. We would suggest using Stiction Eliminator, sounds like a classic case of tricky stiction. We offer the money back guarantee so I would definitely try a fresh oil change and a two quart dose of Stiction Eliminator before trying to chase anything else down. Keep us in the loop!

    Question

I have a 2004 Duramax (LB7) and for the last 9 months have had fuel issues. I’ve had almost the entire fuel system – injector pump, filter assembly and filter, and control module – replaced. Now the repair shop is telling me I need new injectors. There is a slight hesitation when I start it in the morning, and can drive it 5 or 50 miles. But afterward, when I turn the key after even 2 hours of just sitting, it won’t start. Lately, I’ve had to wait 8-24 hours. I know that the LB7’s have had injector issues, and that very well could be the problem. However, a friend of mine highly recommended your product before I spend the small fortune on new injectors. Your ad says that it should be applied while changing the oil, but I had that done just before finding out about Hot Shot. What do you recommend?

Bruce, here’s a testimonial from a Duramax owner that was told he needed new injectors. http://www.hotshotsecret.com/hot-shots-secret-not-just-powerstrokes/

I would recommend a Diesel Duo, this will ensure the fuel system is clean, lubricated and any existing fuel quality issues are taken care of. Stiction Eliminator will help smooth every part of the oil system to make sure there isnt a hiccup on the engine side. If you have done an oil change in the past 1,000 miles you can drain the amount of oil you desire and refill with Stiction Eliminator, since we are trying to diagnose an issue a fresh oil change with Stiction Eliminator is not a bad place to start. Don’t forget we offer a money back guarantee!

      Hi Robert,
With that many miles, the Stiction Eliminator will have a restorative effect on everything the oil comes in contact with.

I’d also highly recommend a tankful of Diesel Extreme for full results. We’ve performed 3rd party dyno tests (on a Cummins engine!) and when used simultaneously, the products improved the highway fuel economy by 8.7%.

Timothy, you can use the Stiction Eliminator and FR3 at the same time, but you’ll see a bigger “bang for your buck” if you use the Stiction Eliminator to initially clean the oil system and then use the FR3 at the next oil change. FR3’s benefits can be seen more quickly and are much more apparent when added to a clean engine!

      Hi Robert,
The Stiction Eliminator loves synthetic oil, so go ahead and run it with the T6. It is recommended to use a half dose every 3rd oil change, SO the FR3 should be used with the in-between oil changes. Hope that makes sense!

Yes! The 6.4L does not have HEUI injectors like the 6.0L, BUT Stiction Eliminator will clean your oil system, turbo bearing, oil control ring, oil pump, etc.
Also found in Stiction Eliminator are advanced friction reducers which will immediately work to reduce noise, smooth vibration, improve fuel economy, and extend the life of your engine and turbo.

I came across the this product read the reviews and knew I needed to try it well I did and the results was just as stated quicker start up’s, the injectors became much more quite. I highly recommend this product and the diesel extreme together. I also just purchased the newest product FR3 can’t wait to try it on the next oil change I have been using REVX if the FR3 works as they say it will this will be come my go to oil additive and it’s much more cost effective.. 5 out of 5 I'm liking all the great reviews. But how about a PX-9

I like all the great reviews especially how recent the dates of the reviews are. I have a common rail system in a Paccar Px-9 built by Cummins with Cummins injectors. Is it possible to have stiction. Truck just like day one except cold mornings it goes through a moment of buckyness and smooths out. If I had to look for anything else to complain about it would be the latency in throttle response and what sounds like noisy injectors when I’m driving while it is doing a working re-gen while driving. Peterbilt said they can replace all 6 for $10,000. It’s a 2015 I have no codes but they say 1,3,and six failed test 4 I took the truck back and am running down the road just like day one. They gave traumatic stress ever since.

    • Spencer Williams

      Admin (verified owner)

Eric, with the PX-9 we’ve actually seen a common issue arise from a caution in the PX-9 operator manual.

The caution reads “Do not allow your engine to idle, at low rpm’s (400-600 rpm), longer than five minutes. Long periods of idling after the engine has reached operating temperatures can decrease engine temperature and cause gummed piston rings, clogged injectors, and possible engine damage from lack of lubrication. The normal torsional vibrations generated by the engine can also cause transmission wear. If an engine must idle for an extended period of time, it should be done at fast idle (1,000 rpm or greater).”

First I’d ensure that you are outside the warranty period; 100,000 miles/ 5 years/ 3,000 hours typically for PACCAR. Since they wanted $10k I’m assuming you surpassed the mileage limitation, but anytime you don’t have to foot the bill is a good way to go. If we’re outside that warranty period then no worries! For your issues and symptoms you listed, and your engine, I’d recommend running a dose of Diesel Extreme through the fuel tank. Diesel Extreme can clean the inside of the injectors against the clogging mentioned in the warning, as well as improve fuel quality, disperse any moisture in your tank, help with injector noise and definitely improve throttle latency. Benefits are long lasting, and this product is recommended every 6 months; this is definitely where I would start.

Stiction Eliminator has a list of benefits for your PX-9, but unfortunately your injectors aren’t on that list. If the injector issue is an underlying clogging/lubrication issue than I would suspect the oil system would benefit from having Stiction Eliminator clean and lubricate it. We offer money back guarantees on our products, so you’ve definitely come to the right place to look for a little insurance plan and peace of mind from issues down the road. Thanks!

I religiously use stiction eliminator and many of the other products from Hot Shot for my 7.3’s
When I developed a miss I started using stiction eliminator and it smoothed out with in a 1000 miles. I noticed immediately that morning start ups became easier.
My buddy bought a 7.3 and I talked him into putting in stiction eliminator because even though the truck had only 85k on it ,it ran rough and loud. Previous owner did little maintenance. Again like mine it slowly quieted down and ran smoother and smoother. Fuel mileage went up as well. He started out with 14 mpg and now 16+mpg and that’s without using EDT.
EDT is another product that your just stupid if you don’t use it. Everyone I know who use it gets 2-3 mpg more plus all of the benefits of protecting your engine.
I notice a difference when I don’t use not just by mileage but starting and stopping in traffic. Don’t be a puss try it out a bottle all it can do is help!

4 out of 5 This stuff works!

I purchased my 2006 Ram TBD 4 weeks ago with 213000 miles on the clock and didn’t notice how bad the idle was at first. Pretty erratic, lots of white smoke upon start up, popping noises and about 600 rpm. I did the oil change and added the 2 quarts of stiction eliminator and put 350 miles on it. By the time the little trip was done, the idle smoothed out, quit popping and no more white smoke when I started it up the next morning. I am sure hoping that it is cleaning sticky injectors as it is advertised to do. Looking forward to putting some more miles on it and seeing if it improves or not. As of right now I can only give a 4 star rating seeing I have only put 350 miles on it. I will check back after at least 4000 miles to update my rating if necessary. But I am impressed so far. Thank you Hot Shot Secret.

Dear Hot Shot’s, I would like to extend my appreciation to Stiction Elimination. My GMC Sierra diesel was white smoking extremely bad, and added a double dose of stiction juice. After 20,000 miles the truck is virtually smoke free (340,000) miles; running strong on welding jobs.

I have several 97-01 buses with the 7.3 T444e in them. Would you suggest Rotella T6 5w-40 instead of regular Rotella 15w-40 that I have always run? And then use your stuff every third oil change, but maybe more often as will I gain oil change intervals with the full synthetic? Thanks in advance.

Absolutely, any brand of 5w40 synthetic is optimal for the 7.3L vs. a 15w40. We recommend sticking to the half dose every 3rd oil change even with extended intervals. Thanks!

      Hello Bill,
I do not see any warnings against using competing oil additives on the Lucas Stop Leak’s Tech Data sheet, label or product page. Both our product and the Lucas additive are safe for use in petroleum, semi-synthetic and full synthetic engine oils, which also points towards the products being compatible. At this time we have not completed cross testing with every competitor offering, I would recommend using the products during separate oil changes. The new formula of Stiction Eliminator can be used every third oil change to maintain a clean engine, so skipping one oil change won’t hurt anything!

      Hello,
10-11 gallons (40-44 quarts) of engine oil should initially be treated with 4 quarts of Stiction Eliminator according to our label. Then maintained with a 2 quart dose every third oil change. Remember, Stiction Eliminator replaces engine oil, so if you add 4 quarts of Stiction Eliminator you’ll leave out 4 quarts of engine oil.
      Thanks!

      Hi Pat,
Our Transmission Stiction Eliminator (pink fluid, pink label) should only be used in automatic transmissions requiring Automatic Transmission Fluid or a heavier weight gear oil. It’ll work great in maintaining and protecting your truck’s transmission, or maybe offer it to a friend who’s vehicle is experiencing transmission issues. We don’t recommend adding it to your 7.3L, sorry!

Our Stiction Eliminator is 100% compatible with full synthetic, semi synthetic and conventional engine oil. If you’re maintaining your truck and just ensuring your engine and turbo are protected, then your 50/50 blend will work great!

If you’re experiencing issues that you want cleared up, Stiction Eliminator’s effects can be seen and felt more quickly when paired with a full synthetic. Hope this helps!

    Question

I have a 2008 6.4L Ford Powerstroke with 264K miles. Except for the oil cooler failing at 198K miles, its all original. Never replaced an injector or anything else. I did do the DPF & EGR delete at 36K miles and have ran Ford/Motorcraft Cetane Booster in EVERY fuel tank fill and have used Ford/Motorcraft 5w40 Full Synthetic Diesel oil. I am starting to feel a slight rough idle or hiccup when at a stop light. Do you think running Stiction Eliminator will help my truck?

      Admin (verified owner)

      Hello Raul,
For your 6.4L, I’m going to recommend our Diesel Duo, it’s a package that combines both Stiction Eliminator and Diesel Extreme.

Stiction Eliminator will internally clean your engine and turbo, and make sure there’s no deposits or sludge causing a hiccup, while it’s friction reducing properties help smoothern out your idle and protect against wear.

While the Motorcraft Cetane Booster is a good cetane booster, our Diesel Extreme is the most potent boosting and cleaning fuel additive that we’ve ever tested. Diesel Extreme cannot have any more cetane boosting properties added to it, it will clean any asphaltenes or I.D.I.D.s (internal diesel injector deposits) that might be blocking the injector tips and interfering with your fuel spray pattern causing this stumble. Diesel Extreme also combats other fuel quality issues like moisture, lubricity, harsh chemicals found in ULSD and is 100% compatible with your originally equipped emissions equipment, which you already have already taken care of! Diesel Extreme is recommended every 6 months/6k miles.

Both are backed by a 100% money back guarantee, if we can’t fix your rough idle or hiccup we will fully refund you the cost of the product. These issues are definitely within the ability of Stiction Eliminator and Diesel Extreme.

Hi Jake, with the 7.3L we definitely recommend full synthetic due to the HEUI injectors. If you don’t wish to run a full synthetic, look for a 5w40 which will help with cold starts much better than the 15w30.

Put 12 gals diesel on top of about 5 gal in tank. Drove about 25 miles about 1mile from home started black smoke and barely made it .Shut it down, after that tried to start, ran about 1 sec then sounded like motor was starving for fuel then would die. Changed fuel filter purged water seperater and still did no good. Put in diesel extreme fuel treatment and tried to start about 15 times pumping fuel with extreme in it. Let it set 16 hours went out and it started right up. Let it warm up took it for a drive after about 5 miles had a little hick up for about 200 yds then it smoothed out. Has run fine since. Im impressed. Gonna put oil treatment next oil change. I have 2000 Ford 7. 3 343 th miles you recommend syn oil I run rotella in mine. Should I switch to the blend or full syn oil?

I found Hotshots Secret almost 6 months ago, and thought about giving it a try for my higher mileage 6.0 with what I learned to be stiction. Not wanting to tempt fate with this motor I opted not to use it. Although just about every morning it was on my mind. Finally with the rougher starts and longer warm up periods of winter I bit the bullet, with my luck I figured I’d have to wait 3999 miles for it to clear up, but it both started and ran smoother the second day already.

Our fuel additives are the only products we offer that will keep your Duramax’s injectors running smooth. Stiction Eliminator is an oil additive, and will protect your turbo and reduce friction to keep your engine running longer, but won’t be able to help with injector issues.

      Hello Corey,
Stiction Eliminator is the most beneficial product we offer for your engine. It’ll especially help since your engine has intricate components in the oil system including the CMP actuator valves, the phaser and its solenoid, and parts of the gearrotor oil pump system. It will definitely help keep those tight clearances and journals protected from build-up and excessive wear.

Could this be used as an engine flush? And if it cleans the motor does it draw the contaminates into the motor oil? How long of oil interval? will it make the engine oil dirty and be changed after first dose like an engine flush?

    • Spencer Williams

      Admin (verified owner)

Will, it can be used as a engine flush, but left in for the length of an oil change. As time, temperature and pressure take their toll on engine oil, hydrocarbons in engine oil begin to separate and deposit carbon and varnish on engine internal surfaces. Stiction Eliminator works to almost reverse this process and clean these carbon particles into harmless, molecular level size particles and put them back into solution that can safely be held by the now fortified oil until you drain it out at your next oil change. Stiction Eliminator also neutralizes any acid that may have built inside an engine over time.

Stiction Eliminator is fully formulated to remain in an engine for the length of your oil change. And lastly; correct, the gunk and build up that Stiction Eliminator cleaned off will come out with the engine oil when you drain the oil. There is no need to shorten your oil change interval since the Stiction Eliminator cleans while fortifying and helping the engine oil do it’s job more efficiently.

I have a 1995 Ford Explorer that has 260,000 miles. We bought it in 1997 with 32000 miles on it so I know the truck well. About a 6 months ago, ol’ reliable, had a lifter that started to make some noise and then it turned to a lot of noise. I tried another well known oil additive that I have used before and is a great product but it would not free up the stuck lifter. Then I remembered that I had some stiction eliminator that I had bought for my 6.0L and remembered how stiction eliminator works. I used 1 quart in the explorer and within less than 5 minutes the lifter ticking was gone and hasn’t returned! I knew Hot Shot Secret Stiction Eliminator was a good product but that sold me for sure! I highly recommend!!

Was able to try out a new formula for gasoline engines in my 01 Audi A4. I was having lots of tapping and clicking from the engine bay and since I had a free offer I thought why not. So about a week into having it in a fresh oil change I can say my noises have been reduced by at least 80%. I honestly couldn’t believe it at first, especially on cold starts it would be LOUD, like bro your car sounds like a diesel. Now it’s back to being quiet with just a tiny bit of ticking which could be CCT but for all purposes I would give this product a recommendation. The first in its class to back up what the label says.

Yes this is a real review, free product for an honest review.

My spare truck is a ’83 4X4 Dodge W150 318ci/A727 3sp.auto. As of 12/11/16 it just rolled 77,000 miles. A solid truck, but it is low in the HP category. TSC had a 2qt. jug of THE ORIGINAL STICTION ELIMINATOR on sale so I figured it might help a 34 year old motor become more efficient and get rid of some gunk inside the engine. For $44 I had nothing to lose except parasitic power robbing goo. I bought Delo 5w40 synthetic, a new oil filter and the usual gas treatment/carb cleaner that I use in the gas tank at oil changes. The maintenance was done following the instructions from Hot Shot’s. Upon idling the engine immediately after the oil change I noticed a funky smell and some unusual grey smoke which was kind of like mixture of gear-oil, bar-lube and a burning outhouse on a tuna boat. I chalked it up as crud and carbon getting burned off. I ran it on short trips to town once a day for about 4-5 days and then took it on a 200 mile round trip with my father in-law to a buddy’s place by the Georgia state line. Unbeknownst to my father in-law, he even stated “old beast is running pretty good”.

Verdict = It runs noticeably smoother, the oil pressure gauge is higher and the temperature gauge remains the same.
Results may vary…mine is a successful one. Yes, it’s worth it!

I thought I’d give it a try. I have a 96 F350 with the 7.3, my truck has 307,000 miles. It has had a rough idle for a while and I thought it was starting to get a knock. I changed my oil in the HPOP and replaced with the Stiction eliminator and changed the engine oil and put the rest of the bottle in with the new oil. Started it up let it run about 10 mins. The truck idles smooth now and the slight knock sound is gone. I haven’t been down the road in it yet, but this stuff seems to work quickly. Definitely impressed.

Hello. I’ve read through all the reviews above and all I can say is that the Stiction Eliminator is the real deal. I have a 2006 F350 that had just had the entire left bank of injectors replaced and turbo rebuilt (217,500 miles). It’s been two years since I purchased the F350 from Georgia shortly after it had been bullet-proofed by a reliable diesel shop. It had the works done (head bolts, gaskets, EGR delete, High pressure lines, oil cooler, etc). I was getting white smoke from my exhaust on start up and under initial acceleration. I was worried that I would need to go back to the shop and get the right bank of injectors replaced. I had seen the advertisements for Hot Shots Stiction Eliminator and figured it couldn’t hurt. Well, after the two quart exchange of oil for the product, I no longer have any smoke from my exhaust! I am relived beyond words and a lifelong supporter of all your products. I tell everyone I know with a diesel truck of the success I had with the stiction eliminator. AMAZING!

Attention duramax owners, stiction eliminator will not help you injectors as they do not use engine oil like the power strokes and cummins. They use diesel, that’s it. Stiction eliminator will help the other parts of the engine that have buildup of burnt oil residue. Try a fuel additive Ian’s see what that might do for ya. Stiction eliminator works wonders in the other manufacturers engines.

First off, let me say that I am new to the Ford 6.0 Powerstroke. I bought one used with about 250k on it to get into a diesel. I read volumes of information on the 6.0 Powerstroke and learned tons. When I got my truck, it had a real hard time on warm takeoffs. It turned out to be an issue with the EGR system (valve) and now that I’ve resolved that it runs great. During the process of troubleshooting my issues though, I read tons of folks endorsements of Stitction Eliminator. I figured it couldn’t hurt but admittedly suspected it to be just another “snake oil”.

WOW, let me just say, that after about 2000 miles with this stuff, my truck seems to run better and better each day. I immediately noticed an improvement in cold starts and just in general how the truck sounded and runs. My temperature deltas also seem better and the oil doesn’t seem to get as hot the more I drive it with this stuff in it. I am sure it’s not for everyone but it has truly made a difference in my truck and I have nothing but good things to say. Thanks!!

Wow! I must admit I am suprised. I have an 04 6.0. I started having performance issues near 100000 miles. Have spent thousands in repairs but truck still never ran as good as it did prior to the needed repairs. Never regained it’s fuel milage either. I’ve tried many additives. Both fuel and oil getting no results. Just wasted dollars on products claiming to help but didnt. This past weekend I did another regular oil change. I change it every 7500 miles. I seen your product while buying oil. I thought whatever. I’ll try it. But it’s probably another fifty bucks wasted like on all the others I’ve tried. I’ve driven approx. 150 miles since the oil change. My truck runs like it used to. Like it is supposed to. Like it hasn’t the last 70000 miles. I am very impressed with your product. Finally after buying many others I’ve found one that actually works as claimed. It runs smoother. Runs easier. Has more power and my fuel gauge isn’t sinking like a rock in water. Turbo lag? Virtually gone now. Thanks for a great additive that really works.

I have a 1979 chevy car hauler, power by 427 big block gasoline engine . I found the truck on Craigslist it was sitting under a tree for 2 years
We got the truck started ran terrible the engine smoked and the lifters were rattling ran really bad drove it home almost overheated on the temp
Gauge. So I put in new spark plugs cap wires rotor changed the oil and filter, AND added stiction. Adjusted the valves and now after driving
2000 miles and counting the motor does not smoke at all no lifter noise temp Gauge is normal gas milage is excellent plenty of power also

I have a 2006 F350 6.0 and have gone thru it all, with 235,000 miles on it now, i lost 3 cylinders according to the computer reading and was freaking out that the repair was going to cost $2500 to $4500, after reading this web site i decided to try out the fuel and oil treatment, at $80 for both additives it was worth a try, I changed the oil and added the 2 qt of Hotshot and put the fuel additive in as well, I put a weight on the gas pedal to set at about 1400 rpms and let it run, after 6 hrs it was purring like a kitten, retested the injectors with the computer and all are firing correctly, I never write reviews but i had too on this one, I didn’t have the money to replace injectors. I am sold and will keep up with mantiance that Hotshot recommends. Thanks

I have a 2004 Ford F250 with a 6.0 power stroke diesel. The truck has about 88,000 miles on it. I have been experiencing poor starts, poor acceleration, poor towing, and just a general lack of power and responsiveness in the truck for quite some time. I’ve had it in the dealership numerous times for repairs turbos and different things, and have lost one injector recently. I put in Hot Shot’s Secret about 3-4 weeks ago. I’ve driven about 500 miles since putting it in, and I have noticed a significance improvement in the overall power and response of the truck. It started easier, it’s quicker off the line, it tows better. It just runs smoother and better all around. It’s been a great improvement and the truck is running better now than it has in quite some time, even after the repairs that the dealership has been doing.

wow I didn’t thin my 1999 7.3 with 186.000 had any stiction issues like some that I read about, but I noticed when I started it up to leave it ran sluggish until the oil was up to temp, I did the stiction eliminator and extreme diesel treatment and wow, withinin the first 30 miles I could feel the difference and noticed it was quieter, after 100 miles I purposely started it after sitting overnight and ran it before the oil got to temp and what a surprise. great products my wife rarely rides in my truck but we used it to pick up some things and she said your truck is quieter I said yeah it is ,she had no idea what I had done ,I thought it was just me………thanks great product will be ordering transmission treatment next

Pirchase for my 2003 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax diesel. 164,000 with a smoke issue. These diesels were know for a bad injector or 2.
Called first and was told it would definitely reduce the smoke for the leaky injector and do many other things. Followed recommend instructions. New oil and Stiction. Ran till next oil change. No difference. Tried it again with new oil and Stiction and the fuel additive.
Still nothing after 10,000 more miles. Actually I believe my truck is worse. I even video recorded it before and now and it is worse.
I read the positive reviews and I am glad they worked for others but I would not recommend it to others.
Btw, I rarely leave a bad review but….

Hi Bob, below is the response from one of our diesel techs:
The LB7 Duramax engine was notorious for its injector problems. We hear from at least 3 customers daily with this same issue. Diesel Extreme is the most helpful product for the issue, but can only clear it up maybe 50% of the time. Half of the time though, the injectors are just too far gone. The key to helping those injectors is prevention. We recommend upgrading the filtering in the fuel system, and running a lubricity additive with every tank. Something like our EDT.

This stuff is amazing. My husband usually thinks my ideas are nuts, and maybe some are. I saw an ad for this striction eliminator for diesel engines and I thought, wouldn’t it be possible to use in the engine of my 2002 volvo? It’s not diesel, but wouldn’t it be great if it worked. My gas mileage had dropped to 17.1 mpg and it ran ok but not as peppy. I called the guy, expecting to get an automated response. The man answers his own phone!! I asked him about using the green stuff in my engine oil. He told me how much to add. He said it would work best if I added it to fresh oil. Being thrifty and worrying that if it was going to cause problems, I added Iit to the oil without changing it, just in case. The difference was immediate. My car was peppy. I know it is added to the oil but I have to tell you the whole system seems to be working better. The volvo is an XC90 AWD automatic with 168000 miles on it and it is running like a champ now. It seems to downshift easier, and it went from 17.1 mpg to 19.6 mpg within 1 week of adding the striction eliminator to my oil. My husband was so impressed that he took his denali in for an oil change and added it to his vehicle. His gas mileage has improved significantly too. He hauls a bass boat with his denali and said upon returning from a fishing tournament last week that the performance was significantly better and his mpg had improved too. I got an oil change yesterday and added the miracle juice to my nice clean oil. I will keep you informed on any changes. I am so excited about this stuff. I have been trying to find the transmission striction eliminator, but can’t find any around my area so I will order it on line. I don’t have stock in the company nor am I receiving anything for this review. I am on a limited budget and i would not usually spend “a little more” for something to add to the oil or gas or any auto fluids but I took a chance and it is worth every penny I spent. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I have been running around with my bottle of magical green juice adding it to family and friends cars and they are amazed. They think I’m a little nuts- but they are amazed.

Great stuff. My f250 7.3 Power Stroke runs like new. Did the oil treatment and the diesel extreme; 135000 miles, no more smoke on heavy acceleration. 75% of smell gone when idling. You made a believer out of me, thank you.

I drive a 2004 Ford Excursion which has 151,000 original miles. I was having problems with my fuel injectors and thought I was going to be in for a $3,000 injector replacement. However, after having added Hot Shot’s Secret, my injectors are not only responding better but have much better acceleration especially off the line. Hot Shot’s Secret saved me $3,000 worth of new injectors. The truck is running fantastic!

I drive a 2004 F350, 6 liter diesel. Current mileage is 135,000. I’ve driven the truck about 8,000 miles since I’ve added Hot Shot’s Secret. I was having hard starts when it was cold, acceleration lag, turbo lagged, and I was faced with a $1,500 option from the dealer to change 2 injectors that were sticking. I opted for a try of the Hot Shot’s Secret with an oil change. I would say within the first 200 miles I started to notice a difference. Easier starting, better throttle response. I have since changed out the oil that was in the Hot Shot’s Secret. The problems have stayed away. I do intend on using the product from time to time. It’s only been about 6-8,000 miles. Whatever’s in it, works great for me. I love it! Thanks a lot!

I drive a 2001 7.3 power stroke diesel. The pick up when I got it had 259,000 miles on it. It had poor maintenance habits done. After changing the oil and running a good flush through it, I purchased Hot Shot’s Secret, drained the oil again, and put fresh oil in, plus the 64 ounces of the Hot Shot’s Secret. Right away I noticed a quicker start up and smoother idle. Directly after the first 120 miles or so, it even got smoother, the idle got quieter, and the pick up seemed to have a lot better throttle response. I left it in for about 4,000 miles, drained it, then I put in new fresh oil and it seems like that the truck idles smoothers and runs better due to the Hot Shot’s Secret. It’s a great product. I recommend it to all my friends. I plan on ordering more in the near future. Thank you very much.

Original Stiction Eliminator will stop excessive black smoke and bucking and chugging on cold starts. It not only cleans injectors but other parts of the engine as well, including the turbocharger.

Scientifically formulated to eliminate the stiction build-up that causes most injectors to fail. Pour one treatment of our Original Stiction Eliminator into your oil BEFORE replacing your injectors. In less than 4,000 miles you will see, hear and feel the difference as your injectors come back on line. And you’ll save thousands of dollars by not replacing injectors that weren’t broken to begin with!

When used in conjunction with Diesel Extreme (fuel additive), your engine will regain its original performance power. Recommended for ALL diesel and gasoline engines, even without symptoms like failing injectors, stiction is being made.

Typical Applications and Mixtures:

Recommended for ALL diesel and gasoline engines. We recommend using with a fresh oil change, ideally with a full synthetic motor oil. Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator is made up of 100% additives so it can stay in the oil for the entire oil change.

Directions:

For initial cleanup please refer to the initial treatment chart above. For a maintenance dose use only half the recommended initial amount. Remember: the amount of Stiction Eliminator that is added replaces the same amount of engine oil. Be careful not to overfill.

To increase the efficiency in modern diesel engines, manufacturers have increased the pressure at the tip of the injector. This increase provides for a better, more efficient burn with added power. Older injectors would put out 1,200 psi at the injector tip but the new diesel engines put out 26,200 psi at the tip. To achieve this increase in pressure, the manufacturers had to tighten the tolerance inside the injector. This increased the friction and temperature. The higher temperatures have a burning effect on the engine oil. A layer of oxidized oil and additives form, slowing down the injector and eventually stopping it altogether.

Originally created for International Truck and Engine, Stiction Eliminator is a formula made from a combination of detergents and dispersants, which can be added into new or used motor oil. Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator then works to remove build-up caused by the coking and varnishing left behind from overheating the engine’s oil.

If you have a diagnosis of a failed injector, then Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator will fix this problem, even if the injector is at the point of not working. Stiction Eliminator is a combination of detergents and dispersants that clean up the carbon and oxidation inside the injector. It also contains additives that make the motor oil work better. Friction modifiers and viscosity improvers make everything run smoother, with less friction and acid neutralizers help to prevent the built up soot in your engine oil.

We have been testing Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator since 2004. Trucks having problems were hooked up to a diagnostic computer and tested. Computer analysis showed anywhere from 1 to 6 injectors needing replacement. A treatment of Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator was added to the engine oil. The trucks were run only 100 miles and then the computer analysis was repeated. 86% of the time, the analysis showed all the injectors were back online. The owners noticed more power and a smoother running truck. The other 14% of the trucks showed improvement also. Most of the time, the diagnostic analysis showed that 4 injectors needed replacement before treatment. After Hot Shot Secret Stiction Eliminator was added to the engine, the analysis consistently showed only 1 injector needing replacement.
