100% PAO Synthetic Motor Oil

Hot Shot's Secret 5W40 and 15W40 CK4 specification are 100% pure synthetic using only Group IV and Group V base oils.

Both 5W40 and 15W40 CK4 are a blend of poly-α-olefin (PAO) and polyolester (POE) oils that requires a very small amount of viscosity improvers to meet the weight specifications. This allows the oil to be loaded with more longevity and performance additives, keeping the oil cleaner longer and providing better mileage and horsepower.

Recommended for most gas and diesel engines.
Now available in full synthetic 5w40 CK-4 OR 15w40 CK-4!

5 out of 5 I settled for the best

    (verified owner)

From the beginning I used an independent brand synthetic oil but decided to try the Blue Diamond brand oil in my 6.0. I was unsure at first if the wide 5-40 rating would be wise for my application but all concern was soon diminished and I run it in 100º weather and in the teens during winter. My engine sounds quieter and smoother with this oil, it seems to stand up to the shearing the 6.0 is known for. Well worth the cost, I may try it in my air cooled VW’s too!

  14. Thomas A Shields

    Question

I have a 2009 6.7 Cummins Dodge. It does not use DEF because if the particle filter needs some, on Regen it sprays diesel on the exhaust stroke. Another manufacturer said that year 6.7 can’t do long oil change intervals. Meaning it might leak fuel into the oil and thin it out. Have you heard of this problem? I am thinking about using Blue Diamond.

Thomas, I’d recommend Blue Diamond for any truck, we’re privately owned meaning we don’t develop products with a primary focus on profit. Blue Diamond is formulated to be the absolute best engine oil we can make, nothing less.

We’ve seen great results with 6.7L’s; Blue Diamond would definitely help extend oil change intervals and we’ve seen huge regen benefits with our Everyday Diesel Treatment. I would recommend submitting an oil analysis to help us determine a interval that works best for your truck; we offer free oil analysis review whether you get our kit or from another source.

This Monday, I’d recommend giving our Technical team a call at 1-800-341-6516 and we’ll see where to start. Thanks Thomas!

    Question

    (verified owner)

I have a 2005 Dodge 3500 with cummins engine I’ve been using royal purple oil and changing about every 10k. I am interested in the blue diamond oil and the oil analysis. After using the diesel extreme and the edt I am hooked. Being that this truck only has 139k on it, this may be the last truck I buy. Please advise. Do I send initial sample of oil with the current oil or after oil change?

      Admin (verified owner)

Hello! For your situation, I’d recommend taking a sample of oil as you drain the 10,000 mile oil to see if we should shorten or extend that 10k interval. The results are sent to both you and our company; our staff can review your results with you over the phone to help make recommendations and see what’s going on inside your engine. If you’ve decided to make the switch to Blue Diamond, I’d run that for 10,000 miles and take a sample to see how much longer we can go.

Be sure that the sample is from oil coming from the drain plug; samples obtained from the filter or the filter housing may provide inaccurate results. Diesels are definitely investments and we’d love to help you get the most out of yours!

I have a 2013 f-250S/D,6.7L. I currently run Rotella T-6 Syn. 5W40 with Lucas Engine Oil Extender, I service th engine between 3 & 4 K. I also change fuel filters everyother change and I add StanaDyne to the fuel about every 3rd fill up and I have a 33 gal. aux. tank. I have far less Exhaust Filter Clean ups than what Ive herd from other guys with this set up. I would like to do an Oil Anyl. the power train has 131k, I bought it used in NM. 2 years ago with 86K on it. I tow a 32 ft. fifth wheel camper for about 6 weeks during june, july & aug traveling from 7 10k in mileage. Your thoughts. I am a retirewd Master auto & med. tk tech from ford. I take Impeckable care of my equipment and will not cut corners. I would like a little better fuel economy and everybody wants more power. I think it could run a little quietier and maybe just a little smoother. Thanks……………………… JACK

Hi Jack, that is great to hear that you are running full synthetic and keeping up with regular oil changes & analysis.

I would highly recommend a deep cleaning/restoration for both the oil and fuel system with our Diesel Duo bundle. Initial cleaning product for the oil system is 2 quarts of Stiction Eliminator, followed by FR3 Friction Reducer for maintenance. 16 ounces of Diesel Extreme is the initial fuel system cleaner, with great results in reducing DPF regens even further! We guarantee you’ll like EDT (Everyday Diesel Treatment) in every tank for cetane boost and lubricity. *please do not mix additives, including our own products.

Your owner’s manual should have a complete listing of viscosities your engine can safely use. For an engine requiring only 0w20 I would not recommend a 5w40, but your owner’s manual will help us determine if 5w40 meets your required specs. We are currently working to offer different viscosities but haven’t released any at this time. Thanks John!

I want to tell you that I have been running the Blue Diamond in my Yanmar tractor. This YM2000 has no starting aids, and prior using Blue Diamond, it was nearly impossible to start in the mid 20′s and lower temperatures. After installing the Blue Diamond, the temperature can drop into the teens, and the engine starts almost as easily as if it were 70 degrees, and the engine runs with much less mechanical noise.

      Frank,
Our Blue Diamond CJ-4 will work great for your EcoDiesel!

Fiat/Chrysler released a Technical Service Bulletin for your truck on July 20, 2016 where they switched the recommended oil viscosity from the original 5w30 to 5w40, Blue Diamond’s viscosity is 5w40. Blue Diamond also meets the required CJ-4 or E9/E7 specifications that FCA recommends. Hope this answers your question!

I drive a 2005 F350 with a dreaded 6.0 and all I can tell you is I’ve been using this stuff since it first came out and Hot Shot’s Secret along with [Diesel Extreme] and the Blue Diamond Oil has saved that engine, and I know that because it’s a brand new engine. It’s also the third one that they’ve put in; so that’s all I’ve ever used in this engine. This engine is almost at 100,000 miles and I’ve had no problems with it whatsoever. I will continue to use Hot Shot’s Secret and I will continue to use all their products because Lubrication Specialties has landed on something that’s actually worth using over and over and over again.

Blue Diamond is the premier oil choice because it reduces wear 20-30% more than it’s competitors, and will last 50,000–100,000 miles depending on driving conditions and the quality of the oil filter. Hot Shot’s Secret recommends pairing this high-quality oil with a Frantz Filter system to greatly lengthen drain intervals and extend engine life. Blue Diamond CI-4 Plus/SL variation contains 30-50% more detergents additives than the industry average.

Blue Diamond is available in either CJ-4/SN or CI-4 Plus/SL universal motor oil. Due to its 5W40 viscosity grade, Blue Diamond meets and greatly exceeds all heavy-duty diesel engine requirements for multigrade engine oil. A 100% pure synthetic motor oil, Blue Diamond is vastly superior to partial synthetics. In addition, Blue Diamond is formulated to meet and exceed API SL for gasoline engines.

Blue Diamond’s 5W viscosity at low temperatures allows it to replace conventional 5W30, 10W30, and 15W40 oils in diesel as well as gasoline engines. This 5w property also helps oil get to the top of the heads faster on cold starts, while still maintaining the viscosity needed at normal operating temperatures. This is especially helpful on diesels with HEUI injection systems, pressurizing the oil rails faster than a 15w-40 would.

Blue Diamond is fully compatible with all conventional mineral oil-based motor oils and fortified with a high detergent additive package with highly effective dispersants – making it suitable for all diesel engines where 15W40 is required. The CJ-4/SN version is 12 TBN and the CI-4 Plus/SL spec is 14 TBN. Its low volatility compared to conventional light neutral based oils greatly reduces oil consumption. The high detergency plus the exceptional oxidation and thermal stability prevents deposits and oil breakdown, making much longer drain intervals possible. Special anti-wear additives in superior lubrication basestocks plus super engine cleanliness spells elimination of most wear and reduction of maintenance. Blue Diamond is formulated for extreme cold temperatures as well as extreme high temperature service. Its 5W viscosity at low temperatures allows it to replace conventional 5W30, 10W30, and 15W40 oils in gasoline as well as diesel engines.
