FR3 Friction Reducer is a lubricity enhancing oil additive that increases the lubricating & wear reduction properties of the host oil. The product contains three proprietary synthetic lubricants that have unique lubricating properties even compared to PAO or mPAO synthetics of the same viscosity. The anti-wear component of the formula is an exclusive carbon nano lubricant that fills in microscopic irregularities on the machined surface. The synergy of these components extend the base oil performance in shear stability, oxidation stability, film strength & especially friction reduction. It also increases the oil’s film strength for added protection and efficiency.

Uses:
Semi-trucks, pick-up trucks, farm equipment & autos. Effective in all engines including: Ford Powerstroke, Dodge Cummins, GM Duramax, Saab, Volkswagen, Audi. You can use FR3 oil additive to treat any oil-lubricated system except air conditioning and aircraft. Even though FR3 is an industrial product, you’ll find that small two cycle engines love it; just add FR3 to your oil before mixing it with the fuel. Your automobile, light truck or other personal vehicles will benefit from FR3 in the engine, power steering unit, and differential.

NOTE: FR3 displaces the same amount of oil. Example: If your oil capacity is 10 quarts, 15 oz. of FR3 and 9 quarts + 17 oz. of oil. Do not use in conjunction with other aftermarket oil additives, including Stiction Eliminator

THE SCIENCE

There is not a product in the world that contains the same chemical makeup as Hot Shot’s Secret FR3 Friction Reducer, making it truly a one-of-a-kind. It contains the most effective nano lubricant available, nano carbons. Nano carbon particles are spherical in shape and are less than 10 nano meters in diameter. This allows the lubricant to find the voids and blemishes on a machined surface, fill these gaps and provide a smoother surface for the lubricating film to form.

While nano carbons are highly effective on their own as a friction reducer, FR3 Friction Reducer also contains two other patented lubricants blended into the formula. The synergy between these patented lubricants have unique lubricating properties even compared to PAO or mPAO synthetics of the same viscosity. FR3 Friction Reducer is also negatively charged, allowing it to attach itself to the oil-wetted components inside your engine. The esters inside FR3 Friction Reducer are also responsible for the increased rubber seal lubrication as well as a slight swelling of seals for less oil leaks.

Wear rates are reduced by 43% on the ASTM G-133 test when using FR3 Friction Reducer. The patented nano particles cross link at the surface, which increases film strength and boundary lubrication. The synergy of these components extends the base oil performance in shear stability, oxidation stability, film strength and especially friction reduction.

Lost compression is restored by cleaning deposits on the rings and pistons and by providing a smoother sealing surface for the rings, which results in better ring sealing, less blow-by and increased combustion efficiency. The reduction in the coefficient of friction reduces operating temperatures and improves the oxidative stability of the host oil ensuring longer life for your engine. Fuel mileage and horsepower gains of 5% are not uncommon with the use of FR3 Friction Reducer, as backed by dyno and road testing.

HOW DOES FR3 FRICTION REDUCER WORK?

FR3 is an oil additive that boosts lubricity using three synthetic lubricants. These lubricants work together to increase horsepower, combustion efficiency and base oil performance.

One of the synthetic lubricants in FR3 — made from round nano carbon particles less than 10 nanometers in diameter — also reduces wear on engine components by filling in imperfections and creating a smoother surface for the lubricating film to form. Hot Shot’s Secret FR3 Friction Reducer has a negative charge, which allows it to effectively adhere to oil-wetted engine components.

 

WILL FR3 FRICTION REDUCER WORK WITH MY ENGINE?

We have formulated FR3 Friction Reducer to work safely and effectively in gasoline and diesel engines, including vehicle, marineRVagricultureconstruction and semitruck engines. This oil friction reducer also effectively lubricates power steering, differential and hydraulic systems.

 

WHEN SHOULD I ADD FR3 TO MY ENGINE’S OIL?

You should add FR3 Friction Reducer to your engine’s base oil during each regularly scheduled oil change. The treatment ratio for our oil friction reducer is 1.5 ounces of FR3 per quart of oil. FR3 is compatible with most mineral and synthetic base oils, as well as motor, transmission, gear and hydraulic oils, so you can feel comfortable adding it to your vehicle’s most critical systems.

 

CAN I USE FR3 WITH OTHER OIL ADDITIVES?

We do not recommend using FR3 Friction Reducer at the same time as any other oil additives, including our own. However, you can alternate using FR3 and Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator to help remove the buildup created by burnt oil. For the best results, use Stiction Eliminator for the first oil change and FR3 Friction Reducer for the next two oil changes, then repeat the cycle.

 

WILL USING FR3 VOID MY ENGINE’S WARRANTY?

Using FR3 will not damage your engine’s components or void your manufacturer’s warranty. That’s a guarantee. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prevents manufacturers from using unfair or misleading warranty disclaimers, and it also ensures your warranty remains in effect when you use our additives. Just remember to use FR3 with a type of oil recommended by your manufacturer for use with your engine.

Awesome for engines, but AIR TOOLS!!! THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!!!

I was skeptical about using in my Impact gun and air ratchet, I put it in my half drive and HOLY S#IT!!! My impact was working better than it ever did, it actually takes off lugs faster now😆 I will say! I been using every time I use it and it definitely was worth it! Hemi lifter chatter

I have a 5.7 hemi which tends to eat the lifters and chatter pretty bad. I use FR3 with redline 5w30. I feel as though this is the best combo for a long life out of my 5.7 hemi.

220,000 miles and still going.

I've used Hot Shot's FR3 alternating with their Stiction Eliminator ever since I've had my truck. I don't have any valve train noise and my gas mileage hasn't changed since the truck was new. I've recommend this product to all my buds.

I do RV hauling and a friend referred these products to me. Used stiction on one oil change then FR3 thereafter and did a trip and got some of the best mpg ever. Truck is almost 2 years old and has over 240k miles on it. I used the FR3 in my shortbox super duty (35gal tank) and DTE was over 750 miles which is amazing and only heard of with the longbox with 55gal tank. Happy with the product and will continue to use.

Cleaned up 2004 lexus rx330 3.3L.

Purchased a used 2004 lexus rx 330 with 130,000 miles. All service performed at dealership with records. I use fr3 in my 5.9 cummins so decided to try it in the lexus. After oil service with fr3 the engine began to perform better with better fuel mileage. Next oil change I will start using stiction eliminator to clean up oil deposits.

Very surprised

I have seen commercials for years and finally decided to try FR3. We have a 2017 Ford Expedition with the 3.5 ecoboost. I had just added a catch can to reduce carbon build up from blownby in the PCV system. Before adding FR3 I would have to empty the catch can every two weeks as it would be close to full. After using FR3 it decreased significantly with the first oil change. With the last oil change there is barely any oil in the catch can after 2 weeks. Only change was adding FR3. Proof is in the pudding.

My powerstroke has over 300k km on it and I do RV hauling. A friend of mines in the business introduced me to this additive. Got some of the best fuel mileage, better than when the truck was brand new. I do use only Amsoil engine oil and they seemed to work amazing together. Engine runs extremely smooth and clean. Overall happy with product.

Excellent Product

I have tried every oil additive. Everything from Arch Oil to Marvel Mystery oil. I have boroscoped cylinders and looked for a product that would eliminate piston ring scuffing and cam wear. This product can be the answer to internal engine wear with its nano type lubricant properties.

Well I have not used my Fr3 yet because I am waiting for my truck to be built… Ford is backed up with orders. However, I got finally after a shipping problem where it was damaged in transit, so I called Hotshots and they told me the package was returned to them and they would send out another.
