6.7 Powerstroke Excessive White Smoke
6.7 Powerstrokes occasionally exhibit white smoke on startup or other occasions, like during acceleration. The white smoke may be from an internal leak in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler or stiction, a sludge-like residue resulting from particle build-up in your injector.
If you experience excessive white smoke from your vehicle’s tailpipe, it may require maintenance. An internal coolant leak on a 6.7 Powerstroke will require you to remove the EGR for bench testing. Otherwise, your truck might benefit from cleaning and lubrication with our state-of-the-art additive products.
Why Does My 6.7 Produce White Smoke on Startup?
Many circumstances could lead to 6.7 Powerstroke white smoke. These are some of the most common causes:
How Can You Prevent 6.7 Smoking?
Prevent white smoke and boost your 6.7 Powerstroke engine’s performance with our third-party tested transmission oils.
Stiction Eliminator
Designed for diesel and gasoline engines, the Stiction Eliminator is an engine-restorative, dual-purpose injector cleaner and lubricator. Stiction Eliminator reduces engine wear by up to 62%, according to third-party American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) 1-33 testing. The water-dispersant engine oil additive will prevent white smoke, remove stiction and lubricate oil-wetted engine parts.
Diesel Extreme
Rigorously clean your diesel or gasoline engine’s parts, eliminate DPF regeneration cycles by up to 50% and extend gas mileage with Diesel Extreme. The 6-in-1 fuel engine additive and fuel injector cleaner will break up and remove the toughest internal diesel injector deposits (IDIDs) and amplify your engine’s cetane rating by up to seven points.
