I have used most of Hot Shot products. They really work. The Never Rust is good at getting into the treads on bolts, but best part is it leaves a oil film on the surface. The other stuff out there seams to not lubricate the parts.

Almost every year I end up replacing a $40 drive chain on my front mount snowblower because the chain gets road salt in the pins and after setting all summer even after spraying with other lubes it is stiff. Rather than chance replacing $225 worth of sprockets I would replace the chain. With Never Rust sprayed on the new chain the salt didin’t migrate into chain. I sprayed it again after the season.

How is this compared to fluid film which is lanolin based? I use a bunch of HSS products and I’m confident this is also a great product so I’m gonna try it out either way.

I have both the Never Rust, and Spray & Stay Grease; which one is best for running boards on an SUV? I need to de-ice, unstick & prevent the slush from freezing the boards which disabling them from moving. What’s my best bet? Both products do not de-ice; is it OK to spray deicer on them and then spray them with one of the two products right away if the boards suddenly freeze in the middle of a bitterly cold winter? Will the moisture from the de-icer not prevent your lubricant from soaking into the mechanism, will it?

While we do not have testing to support the use of our spray greases with de-icers, we do have moisture testing that shows excellent wash off resistance for both products. We recommend the Spray & Stay Grease for this application, and you should not notice any issues.
