Black Diamond OUTLAW Engine Oil 15W40
BLACK DIAMOND HEAVY DUTY DIESEL ENGINE OIL
100% PAO FORMULAS!
Infused with FR3 Nano Lubricant Technology
Black Diamond Outlaw 15W-40 is a 100% pure poly-α-olefin (PAO) Group IV synthetic oil that requires a very small amount of viscosity improvers to meet the weight specifications. The infusion of our patented FR3 Nano Technology and CK-4 additive package provides unsurpassed levels of longevity and performance while keeping the oil cleaner longer and providing better mileage and horsepower.
Why It Works
Today's CJ-4 and CK-4 diesel oils are limited due to government-mandated specifications. Certain additives that helped in making diesel oil so robust are now gone. Hot Shot's Secret Black Diamond Outlaw fixes these issues by including more zinc, adding more detergents and dispersants to the oil and blending it with our patented FR3 Nano Technology. This allows for extreme wear protection, increased horsepower and fuel economy, and less sludge formation.
With a higher level of zinc, Black Diamond Outlaw provides 3x the amount of wear protection when compared to traditional CK-4 oils. Black Diamond Outlaw is also 100% PAO synthetic. This means the oil will stay cleaner longer, better resist shearing and thermal breakdown, and allow for extended oil change intervals.
Black Diamond Outlaw is not intended for vehicles with diesel particulate filters (DPF), catalytic converters, EGR or other emission equipment, as damage to these systems could occur. Designed for off-road use only.
The Science
The government-mandated specifications for CJ-4 and CK-4 diesel oil removed a lot of the additives that made diesel oils so robust. Hot Shot's Secret Black Diamond Outlaw returns these lost properties and is the most complete diesel oil available. It has the highest Total Base Number (TBN) rating and the highest extreme-pressure additive package, which includes zinc, of all our oils.
We chose our PAO Adrenaline Racing Oil as the starting point for Black Diamond Outlaw and blended in additional CK-4 additive, extreme-pressure additives and TBN Booster. At nearly a 15 TBN rating, Black Diamond Outlaw exceeds the CK-4 specification by 150%, with nearly 3 times the amount of zinc mandated by API for the CK-4 specification. The increased TBN provides you with unmatched protection against the acidic conditions occurring naturally in diesel combustion engines. The harder you run your diesel, the more protection you're going to need.
Black Diamond Outlaw gives you all the benefits of the latest lubrication technologies of a PAO oil, including molecular, oxidative, thermal and additive package stability, but now with extra protection that we haven't seen in years. Being 100% PAO synthetic, Hot Shot's Secret Black Diamond Outlaw provides many more benefits than other synthetic or conventional oils.
The high viscosity index of PAOs requires fewer viscosity improvers to meet the weight specifications. The shearing of viscosity improvers will thin your oil by mechanical means while it is pressed through main and rod bearings, camshaft bearings, lifters, and between valve stems and rocker tips. Reducing the amount of viscosity improvers needed in your oil reduces the amount of mechanical shearing that takes place. This keeps your oil from losing viscosity, keeps it in specification, and provides you with more consistent oil and engine performance.
The true synthetic nature of PAOs keeps oxidation from occurring at high temperatures due to their chemical structure. PAOs have a fully saturated linear arrangement with alkyl functional groups attached, which gives them unique oxidation resistance and cold flow properties. Your engine will be fully protected from wear on cold starts and during operation. PAOs are also inherently cleaner oils, with fewer impurities from the start. This means your oil will start cleaner and remain cleaner throughout its life cycle.
Our incredibly high zinc and antimony extreme-pressure additive package protects you from the worst possible scenarios when you need boundary lubrication. The synergy between zinc and antimony and their reactions with phosphorus and sulfur provide a stronger, multi-layer tribofilm at the surface than either component on its own, which adds even more anti-wear and extreme-pressure properties.
As with all our oils, you get the friction reduction and wear protection of our triple-patented FR3 Nano Technology. If you're looking for the most robust diesel oil available, Black Diamond Outlaw is the oil for you.
Black Diamond Outlaw is not intended for vehicles with diesel particulate filters (DPF), catalytic converters, EGR or other emission equipment, as damage to these systems could occur. Designed for off-road use only.

Hot Shot’s Secret Black Diamond Outlaw Oil is the most complete diesel oil available. Not only is it 100% PAO synthetic, it also includes a robust Total Base Number (TBN) of 14, extreme-pressure additives (including zinc) and it is blended with our patented FR3 Nano Technology and additional CK-4 additive. This means Black Diamond Outlaw provides you with unmatched protection and performance compared to other oils on the market.
The harder you run your diesel, the more protection you need, and Black Diamond Outlaw offers just that. With nearly 3X the amount of zinc mandated by API for the CK-4 specification, wear protection will never be an issue. Your oil will stay cleaner longer, protect against deposit formation and shearing and will provide an increase in horsepower and fuel economy up to 3% each.
Black Diamond Outlaw is not intended for vehicles with diesel particulate filters (DPF), catalytic converters, EGR or other emission equipment as damage to these systems could occur because of their low tolerances to zinc.
At Hot Shot’s Secret®, we infuse our oils with FR3 Friction Reducer® due to its exceptional performance-enhancing properties. FR3 Friction Reducer® is specifically designed to reduce friction and minimize wear within an engine’s moving parts. Oils with this advanced friction-reducing technology provide superior lubrication, creating a protective barrier between metal surfaces and reducing metal-to-metal contact. This results in reduced friction, lower operating temperatures, and improved fuel efficiency. The infusion of FR3® also helps prevent premature engine failure by minimizing wear and tear on vital components, such as pistons, bearings, and camshafts.
By incorporating FR3® into our oils, we offer a superior product that extends the lifespan of engines and other oil-lubricated components, minimizes maintenance requirements and ensures peak performance and reliability. Hot Shot’s Secret® oils maintain their performance for longer periods, extending oil change intervals and reducing overall maintenance costs.
