  1. Question

Hi I have a 1995 7.3 power stroke I’m thinking about a bypass filter either this one or Amsoils. I am also thinking of changing to your oil. Does your oil already have the stiction eliminater in it or would I need to add it to your oil? I love the stiction eliminator I also love your friction modifier so I thought I would try your oil but didn’t want to waist money buying stiction eliminator if your oil has it in it already. Thank you

Our oil does not contain our Stiction Eliminator. It just contains our FR3.

  2. Question

    Branden Hess

I am thinking about getting the oil bypass kit for my 08 deleted Dodge and have some questions.
About how often would the bypass and stock filter need to be changed?
Between using this bypass filter and not. How much longer would you say the oil life is extended compared to just changing the stock filter every 5K to 10K miles?
I am currently using Rotella 15W40 synthetic blend with either Stiction eliminator or FR3 additive added every oil change at 8K miles. The truck is used to tow a camper about 10K miles every year as well as it is my daily driver. What oil would you recommend based on my driving with and or without this upgrade to the oil filtration?

If you had the Frantz Bypass on the ’08 and would run our Blue Diamond 15w40 PAO oil you can get 15k miles out of it easy, and possibly farther; I run my ’15 Duramax 20k on this oil and change both spin-on and Frantz filter at 10k. The first time doing this I did oil analysis at the 10k mile mark and it came back perfect; it came back great at 20k also. I have seen this oil with the Frantz and analysis with TBN booster go over 50k on my buddy’s 300k 2013 Duramax that he uses to haul campers. If you do not want to extend that far, just don’t feel comfortable or don’t have the time to do this, then run our Green Diamond 15w40 full synthetic and change out at 10k. Call me at Hot Shot Secret directly if you want to discuss further. Thanks, Tom.

Also just know they recommend you change your filters every 5k

i installed this about a 3 weeks ago and i checked to see if the oil on the dip stick is any cleaner but it is not. I next checked to see if the return line oil is cleaner but it is also dirty. I am not sure why the oil is dirty, i though it was going to be cleaner.

Hi Rocky, diesel engines produce soot as part of the combustion process. It takes very little soot to turn the oil black. The soot that is smaller than 1-2 microns will remain in the oil even with the Frantz kit. If you were to take an oil sample, the particle count would be less than new oil, but will look black because of the microscopic soot. A particle count will be the only way to tell if your Frantz filter is actually doing it’s job. Hope that helps!
