    I thought I’d give it a try. I have a 96 F350 with the 7.3, my truck has 307,000 miles. It has had a rough idle for a while and I thought it was starting to get a knock. I changed my oil in the HPOP and replaced with the Stiction eliminator and changed the engine oil and put the rest of the bottle in with the new oil. Started it up let it run about 10 mins. The truck idles smooth now and the slight knock sound is gone. I haven’t been down the road in it yet, but this stuff seems to work quickly. Definitely impressed.

    I’ve got a 92 7.3 idi that’s blowing blue smoke. Will adding this and diesel extreme help eliminate this issue since it’s not direct injected?

    Hello. I’ve read through all the reviews above and all I can say is that the Stiction Eliminator is the real deal. I have a 2006 F350 that had just had the entire left bank of injectors replaced and turbo rebuilt (217,500 miles). It’s been two years since I purchased the F350 from Georgia shortly after it had been bullet-proofed by a reliable diesel shop. It had the works done (head bolts, gaskets, EGR delete, High pressure lines, oil cooler, etc). I was getting white smoke from my exhaust on start up and under initial acceleration. I was worried that I would need to go back to the shop and get the right bank of injectors replaced. I had seen the advertisements for Hot Shots Stiction Eliminator and figured it couldn’t hurt. Well, after the two quart exchange of oil for the product, I no longer have any smoke from my exhaust! I am relived beyond words and a lifelong supporter of all your products. I tell everyone I know with a diesel truck of the success I had with the stiction eliminator. AMAZING!

Typical Applications and Mixtures:

Recommended for ALL diesel and gasoline engines. We recommend using with a fresh oil change, ideally with a full synthetic motor oil. Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator is made up of 100% additives so it can stay in the oil for the entire oil change.

Directions:

For initial cleanup please refer to the initial treatment chart above. For a maintenance dose use only half the recommended initial amount. Remember: the amount of Stiction Eliminator that is added replaces the same amount of engine oil. Be careful not to overfill.

To increase the efficiency in modern diesel engines, manufacturers have increased the pressure at the tip of the injector. This increase provides for a better, more efficient burn with added power. Older injectors would put out 1,200 psi at the injector tip but the new diesel engines put out 26,200 psi at the tip. To achieve this increase in pressure, the manufacturers had to tighten the tolerance inside the injector. This increased the friction and temperature. The higher temperatures have a burning effect on the engine oil. A layer of oxidized oil and additives form, slowing down the injector and eventually stopping it altogether.

Originally created for International Truck and Engine, Stiction Eliminator is a formula made from a combination of detergents and dispersants, which can be added into new or used motor oil. Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator then works to remove build-up caused by the coking and varnishing left behind from overheating the engine’s oil.

If you have a diagnosis of a failed injector, then Hot Shot’s Secret Stiction Eliminator will fix this problem, even if the injector is at the point of not working. Stiction Eliminator is a combination of detergents and dispersants that clean up the carbon and oxidation inside the injector. It also contains additives that make the motor oil work better.
